Rheumatic Fever

Rheumatic fever is a severe complication of strep throat, usually seen in children between the ages of 5 and 15. It is caused by a group of bacteria called A Streptococcus. The common symptoms include swollen and painful lymph nodes, red rashes, swallowing problems, headache, nausea, vomiting, fever, and red spots on the roof of the mouth.
