Surgical Removal Of Nail

Surgical removal of the nail is known as matricectomy. It is a process where the base of the nail portion is surgically or chemically destroyed. Destruction of the nail altogether results in permanent loss of that portion of the nail. It is often advised in the case of onychauxis, onychogryphosis, congenital nail dystrophies.
