Tongue Crib Appliance

A tongue crib is a removable orthodontic appliance used to treat tongue thrusting, where the tongue pushes the front teeth forward. The tongues crib has metal spikes in the front teeth region that remind the tongue position, and a clasp in the back holds the appliance in place. Tongue cribs are very effective in breaching the tongue-thrusting habit but may cause slight discomfort.
