TRT stands for tinnitus retraining therapy. It is a habituation therapy that helps patients experiencing tinnitus, buzzing or other sounds in the ears during the absence of external sound. In this, the patients are trained to cope with tinnitus at a conscious and subconscious level. It helps in reducing anxiety and hyperacusis. It is implemented successfully in audiology.
