tTG antibody is called tissue transglutaminase antibody. It is detected in celiac disease patients, an autoimmune disorder where the immune system gets triggering after taking gluten. This antibody is also detected in children having poor growth, diarrhea, vomiting, or rashes due to celiac disease. Tissue glutaminase is an enzyme that clears the damage in the body. The affected person with celiac disease develops antibodies that attack this enzyme, and so it is referred to as anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies.
