Vulvar Psoriasis

Vulvar psoriasis is an autoimmune inflammatory disorder that develops on the outer part of the female genitals (vulva). The immune system and genetics are the two factors that cause vulvar psoriasis. Vulval psoriasis typically appears symmetrical and can vary from scaly patches adjacent to the labia majora to moist, greyish plaques or glossy red plaques with no scaling in the skin folds. Women with vulvar psoriasis can experience itching, burning, and discomfort in the affected area. Treatment involves OTC topical medications, and oral medications can cure the condition effectively.
