Dr. Daya Thirumala Rao is an Endoscopic Laser Spine Surgeon with 21 years of clinical experience. He is counted amongst the foremost specialists in the area of minimally invasive spinal surgery. He got graduated from Andhra Medical College. Upon completion of his postgraduate studies in Orthopedics from King George Hospital, Andhra Medical College, he commenced sub-specialty training in arthroscopic surgery and then subsequently Spine Surgery at School for Advanced Training in Spinal Surgery from Dr. P. S. Ramani, Mumbai (Chairman of the Spine Committee, World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS)). After further advanced training in Spinal Endoscopy from multiple renowned international faculties, he started his clinical practice. He is currently associated with Nova Specialty Hospital, NMC in UAE, and Sunrise Hospital Cochin.
Dr. Daya Thirumala Rao has vast experience in Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy and Laser-Assisted Spinal Endoscopy), Percutaneous Endoscopic Laser Annuloplasty (PELA) technique for lumbar disc Prolapse coupled with his specialization in Endoscopic spine surgery. Beyond conventional surgical practices, he is actively involved in research that has successfully brought innovations into the field of Endoscopic Spine Surgery as published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Spinal Surgery. He initiated the training of doctors in minimally invasive spine surgery with the dream of bringing advanced spinal surgeries within reach of every individual.
