Genexpert Test

GeneXpert test is a rapid catridge based nucleic acid amplification test used in diagnosing tuberculosis and detecting Rifampicin resistance. It is done from samples taken from bronchial washings, sputum, pleural fluid, pleural and tissue biopsies. It is helpful in the determination of early-stage tuberculosis even when the smear microscopy test turns negative.

Answer: Hi, Welcome to icliniq.com. The GeneXpert test is a molecular test which detects the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in TB bacteria (tuberculosis). I have a cold and a chest infection. Can I take Amoxicillin?

Query: Hi doctor, Four weeks ago, I had a cold and chest infection. I self-treated with Amoxicillin and it was resolved. Now, I am getting cough with slight wheeze.
