Hi doctor,

I am a high BP patient. My BP is usually between 150/100 mmHg to 170/90 mmHg, and fasting sugar is 198. My age is 40. Height is 180 cm, and weight is approximately 85 kg.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your BP is on the higher side and fasting sample is diagnostic of diabetes. You are overweight. I want you to reduce your weight, and that will control your fasting blood glucose level.

I would advise you to get started your diabetes and hypertension medications. But, before starting that, I want you to get some blood investigations done. They are complete blood count, kidney function test, electrolytes, liver function test, and urine routine examination.

I would advise medication after seeing your blood test or consult your physician and get tablet Metformin 500 mg twice daily along with diabetic diet. Take less than 1500 kilocalorie per day. For hypertension, I would recommend Telmisartan 40 mg once a day. Please avoid oil and deep-fried items.

Your diet will help to reduce your weight, and that indirectly help to control your diabetes, weight, and hypertension.
