Lymphadenitis

Lymphadenitis is inflammation and enlargement of the lymph nodes due to a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection. People with lymphadenitis may have red, tender skin over lymph nodes, swollen, tender, or hard lymph nodes, and fever. Lymphadenitis can spread within hours, so prompt treatment is needed. Medications such as antibiotics, analgesics, anti-inflammatory medicines, and cool compresses help reduce inflammation and pain.
