Common "Otitis Media" queries answered by top doctors | iCliniq

Otitis Media

Otitis media is caused due to respiratory infection, cold, and allergy that infect and cause swelling of the eustachian tube lining along with nasal and throat congestion. Swollen eustachian tube blocks the normal ear fluid drainage, ultimately causing infection of the middle ear. It is characterized by ear pain, improper hearing, imbalance, poor sleep, abnormal ear discharge, etc. It is treated with antibiotics and pain-relieving medications.
