Vasoconstrictor

Vasoconstrictors are drugs that cause constriction of blood vessels and control tissue perfusion. These drugs are used with anesthesia to increase the quality and duration of an anesthetic block. It is used in the treatment of shock and hypotension. Epinephrine, Dobutamine, and antihistamines are common vasoconstrictor drugs. Precautions must be taken before using vasoconstrictors in patients with cardiac disorders.
