Inflammation of the bronchial tubes, which carry air to the lungs, is called bronchitis. The symptoms are chest congestion, wheezing, dyspnea (difficulty breathing), cough with a lot of mucus, etc. It can be either acute, where the symptoms last for only a few days, or chronic, where it lasts longer and leads to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
