Ketone

The main source of energy for the body is glucose, which is found in a wide variety of foods. If the cells do not receive enough glucose to operate, the body produces ketone bodies. High levels of ketones in the body can be dangerous and it often occurs in the case of patients with uncontrolled diabetes; this condition is known as diabetic ketoacidosis. Ketone bodies can be tested through various tests because they can be detected in blood and urine samples.
