Blunt Trauma

Blunt trauma is also called non-penetrating trauma or blunt force trauma. There is body injury caused due to forceful impact, fall, or physical attack with a dull object. Blunt trauma is classified into four categories - laceration, contusion, abrasion, and fracture. Blunt trauma is often caused due to motor vehicle crashes and pedestrian injuries causing abdominal injuries. The other organs affected in blunt trauma are the spleen, kidney, liver, bladder, small intestine, and large intestine. For mild cases, it takes a time of three to six weeks to get recovered. For severe cases, recovery takes some months. In some cases, surgical repair and physiotherapy are required.
