17-ohp

17-OHP stands for 17-hydroxyprogesterone, which is produced by the adrenal glands. They are converted to cortisol with the help of other enzymes. Cortisol helps in maintaining metabolism and immune functions in the body. The 17-OHP test helps to diagnose congenital adrenal hyperplasia in newborns.
