Depressive disorder is a mental disturbance where the patient experiences depressive mood continuously and loss of interest to do any work. It may be caused due to physical, mental, or sexual abuse, certain medications, underlying conditions, etc. Treatment is started with a change in lifestyle. If that does not help then, antidepressant drugs are given, and counseling is done.
