Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old. A friend of mine died two years ago. I was very afraid of that. Now there is only a little fear. I have seen many doctors. When my heart rate is increasing, it is very difficult to breathe. Breathing slowly reduces heart rate. I have done all kinds of tests like ECG, echo, and TMT. Everything is normal. I did not have BP, and six months ago my BP was 150/90 mmHg. Then I had Amlokind-5. Now again I am having BP of 150/90 mmHg. I was prescribed by the doctor. Should I take BP medicine? Will taking BP medicine at this age cause any problems in the future? Now I am taking Amixide-H.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I hope you are feeling better and doing great. I will assume that your blood pressure was measured properly in the clinic and accordingly you were given the antihypertensive medication. Well, as per the readings, it is high blood pressure and warrants treatment. I believe you should go back to your doctor to have your medication re-prescribed and have regular follow-ups for blood pressure. There are no major complications from taking antihypertensive medications and your medication, Amlodipine as mentioned. Still, as with any other medication, patients may suffer from side effects as listed in the medication leaflet. And of course, treatment of hypertension will prevent many complications that can happen in the long run. So I suggest you get treated for it. And if one medication is not suitable or side effects are bothering you, you can always ask for an alternative as there is always another option. The most important here is your safety and health. I hope this has helped you. Thank you for consulting me. You can always come back and reach me at iCliniq.com.
