Hi doctor,
My sister is having hypertension for the past two years and probably has damaged kidneys due to previous kidney stones. She is a breastfeeding mother of two children. We cannot take her to the hospital due to certain reasons. Can we give Panadol for her headaches? Currently, she is taking Rabeprazole and Vascodipine (Amlodipine) 5 mg per day for a month and has gotten better but due to her negligence, she became sick again over four times. Is there a way to reduce her BP with home remedies or medicine that can be bought in a pharmacy? Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I suggest taking Panadol (Paracetamol) in addition. Kidney stones do not always damage kidneys, but hypertension and diabetes can. I also suggest following some home remedies to lower blood pressure along with medications. Avoid smoking and other addictions. Reduce salt intake in the diet. Reduce fatty foods, junk foods, and saturated fats. Avoid stress and anxiety. Do regular moderate-intensity exercise such as a brisk walk for 30 minutes. Have proper night sleep, at least eight hours per day, including at least six hours of uninterrupted sleep at night. Reduce weight even if the weight is within normal range. Drink plenty of water. Do deep breathing exercises and meditation. Better assessment can be done by seeing the electrocardiogram and kidney reports.
