Hi doctor,
I am a 39-year-old male who follows a healthy diet, jogs daily, and never smokes. Lately, the doctor told me I have hypertension during my routine check-up. My first reading was 150/90 mmHg, and after four days, it was 160/100 mmHg. My doctor suggested me to undergo a few blood tests. I have attached my reports for your reference. However the test reports were normal, but because of my high blood pressure, I was given Olmetec Plus 12.5 mg. Despite following a healthy lifestyle, I am shocked that my blood levels are high. Will it remain forever? And what will be the quality of life and life expectancy?
In addition, I have experienced mild chest pain on my left side for a few seconds three to four times a day. And also, I have had pain in my right heel for the past three months.
Please give your suggestions.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
According to the history provided by you, you have essential hypertension, which is a common chronic disease with no clear cause. But some risk factors include smoking, family history, and a stressful lifestyle. It is a chronic condition, so there is no cure, but it can be controlled with medications. Uncontrolled hypertension leads to serious complications like stroke and heart attacks.
However, I am concerned about the left-side chest pain. Is it associated with physical activity? Can you describe it? Is it dull, compressing, or stabbing type?
I hope this helps.
Kindly follow up with the answers.
Take care.
