Blood Clot

A blood clot is a cluster of blood that is gel-like or in a semi-solid state. Clotting is an essential phenomenon after a cut or injury, but it can be risky when it occurs in a vein. Arterial blood clots produce instant signs, and immediate treatment is required, as in heart attack and stroke. Venous blood clots take time to develop but can be life-threatening, as in deep vein thrombosis. Risk factors include obesity, age, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, pregnancy, and cancer.
