My mother is 58 years old and is suffering from headaches and vomiting since last night. We went to a small clinic and they gave medicines but it did not work. She uses Dompan and Amlosafe-AT daily.

Hello, Welcome to icliniq.com. I have read your concern in detail and will help you out. As your mother is taking Amlodafe AT (Amlodipine, Atenolol), I assume that she is hypertensive. I will advise you to get her blood pressure checked. Now most of the patients with hypertension present with headache and vomiting due to two main reasons, increased blood pressure (uncontrolled with medicines) or cerebrovascular accident (stroke). Since you did not mention anything about irrelevant talks and weakness of limbs, I will keep the possibility of stroke out. Increased blood pressure is the most accurate possibility. You can update it with me so that I can guide you correct medications, or you can visit your local physician as well. Kindly do not rely on a single BP (blood pressure) reading, as single readings tend to misguide us. Better to measure BP thrice daily and make a chart for it. If her BP stays in the normal range, then we will need other possibilities to rule out. For the time being, I suggest the following medications that will give her a lot of relief - Tablet Naprosyn (Naproxen) 500 mg twice daily. - Tablet Perinorm (Metoclopramide) 10 mg thrice daily.
